Are We Finished Yet?

A post in bold purple.

So, I opened the letter. I waited a day after I got the awful-looking envelope from FedLoan Servicing and opened it.

Income-Driven Repayment Plan Recalculated.

No shit.

"We recalculated your monthly payment for your Income-based Repayment (IBR) plan. We used the income documentation and the family size you provided to determine your monthly payment of $189.76 which is first due on 7/5/2016.

Now, really, had they just made common sense of all the other documentation I sent them before, we wouldn't have this revelation now, after a few months of me not making payments towards my Forgiveness program.

About 3 months prior to 7/1/2017 we will send you notification letting you know that you are due to recertify (complete a new application and provide updated income documentation.)

Only if you remember to send the actual application, idiots.

If you do not recertify or you no longer have a partial financial hardship, your payment amount will be $832.06.

That's my whole paycheck. So no, they're not getting that.

I'm so sick of this, really. I do not advise my nieces to take out student loans in the future. This is a mess.

Giving Up for the Moment

A Post in Bold Yellow

FedLoan Servicing denied me again, stating:

"We reviewed your Invome-Driven Repayment plan form and denied your request for the following reasons CONFLICTING INFORMATION: Your IDR application indicated that you are submitting your annual recalculation, but it is too early for you to recertify. If you intend this to be an immediate recalculation, please complete a new application."

I have choice words for them, but I will not type those words here.

I instead wrote them a note and put it in an envelope with the same note they gave me, and my note said:

Dear Fedloan Servicing -
You're wasting my time. If I don't have to send you anything, then I won't, just like your call center told me. If I NEED to send you a form, then SEND ME THE FORM TO FILL OUT. I can't fill out a form if you don't send one.

That sealed envelope with letter was in the mailbox all day. I got home and it was still there. That was God telling me not to send the nasty little note. So I have it here, and I'll just wait for them to decide on something. It's a pain in the ass. I really, really don't want anyone else to take out student loans...ever.

A post in Grey.

So, I called during lunch, called at 12:40 p.m.  Waited until 12:50 p.m. and got someone on the phone. Talked to Michael, ID# 615021. I asked him if I was supposed to fill out and send back the income-Driven Repayment Plan Request since I talked to two previous agents and they told me not to. He confirmed the two conversations and the times I quoted. And he was reading any emails that were sent to me. And he put me on hold to "investigate further." He came back on the phone and told me yes, they need the IDR since I didn't fill out section #4. And I confirmed with him that the other two agents gave me false information. And he apologized and said "yes."

:|

So why do I bother calling?

*sigh*

So I'm going to fill this out, send it in, and yes, I'm attaching to each page what those agents told me. Why do I bother calling? Why?
